About Julia

Julia Skapik, MD, MPH, serves as Chair for the HL7 International Board of Directors. She is currently the Medical Director for Informatics at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC) and a board-certified Internist and Clinical Informaticist. 

Prior to her current position, Dr. Skapik worked as a physician within the Inova Health System and was the Chief Health Information Officer for Cognitive Medical Systems, Inc. She also previously served as a Senior Medical Informatics Officer at the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. 

She received her Master of Public Health in Epidemiology and Biostatistics and medical degree from the Johns Hopkins University.

About Raman

Raman is a FHIR Specialist at Dogwood Health Consulting, a FHIR Consultant/Trainer at Firely, and a Principle Consultant at R&B IT Consultancy Services Ltd. She has a master's degree in computer science from University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC).

About Juliet

Juliet is a Senior Advisor of Healthcare Standards for ICF. She graduated with her master's degree in nursing and a master of science in information systems at the University of San Francisco. 

About Emma

Emma is a Senior Product Manager at Veradigm Health (formerly Allscripts). She has her Master Degree in Informatics and Master Degree in Outcome Management from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She also obtained her Bachelor of Science - Registered Nursing from Marymount University. She is a board certified registered nurse in Informatics. She serves as the co-chair of the HL7 Patient Care Work Group and co-chair of the IHE Patient Care Coordination. 

About Line

Line is an Enterprise Architect, specialized in Integration Architecture and she is one Norway's leading subject matter experts in HL7. Throughout her work as an Enterprise Architect, she has been involved in several projects with digitalization of the healthcare sector in Norway. Line is currently serving as the Chair of HL7 Norway, Board member in HL7 Europe and is the representative for HL7 Norway in the Standards Board in the Directorate of e-health in Norway.

About Karen

Karen Van Hentenryck, MA, MBA, serves as the Executive Administrative Director for Health Level Seven International (HL7). A key leadership team member and an active participant in strategic decisions affecting HL7, Karen oversees the administrative functions of the organization, ensuring seamless operations and effective collaboration across departments. She contributes to the development and implementation of organizational strategies, policies, and practices, and assists the CEO in strategic planning and execution, including leading special projects and initiatives that support organizational goals.

Prior to her current role, Karen served as the Associate Executive Director at HL7 for 25 years, and as the Director of Technical Publications at HL7 for an additional two years. In addition, she has worked at various HIT vendors and payers as a technical writer and marketing professional. She holds a BA and MA in English and an MBA in non-profit management.
